Congratulations to Activision on the success of the Call of Duty Endowment (CODE)
Congratulations CODE
The Call of Duty Endowment (CODE) identifies and funds the most efficient and effective organizations that get unemployed veterans back to work.
In 2013, CODE set a goal of placing 25,000 veterans into high-quality jobs by 2018. They reached that goal in 2016. Now they have doubled down and set a new goal to place 50,000 veterans. Click on the video above to see some of the many Activision Blizzard employees who directly helped the Endowment achieve this milestone.
According to CODE, “the unemployment rate for young post-9/11 veterans is 13%”. Veterans entering the workforce are faced with employers who don’t understand their skills and qualifications, and the vets themselves often struggle to explain how their military skills, training, and experience apply to civilian jobs.
There is a strong business case for hiring veterans. According to a recent CEB study, veterans actually perform higher and have a lower turnover rate than the average in the civilian workforce.
“Our goal for 2017 is to place hiring veterans as our priority,” says Irene Agnew, president. “ We will support CODE in every way to promote their endowment for hiring veterans,” said Agnew.
“Supporting the Call of Duty Endowment was one of my favorite projects while working at Activision” said Agnew Multilingual’s video production manager, Josh Bolton, “Capturing veterans stories and editing videos for the endowment was a rewarding experience”.
Activision also announced an expansion of its in-game program that supports the Call of Duty™ Endowment’s nationwide effort to help veterans find high-quality careers. Launching December 6 for PlayStation®4 and coming soon to Xbox One, the Call of Duty™ Endowment (C.O.D.E.) Courage Personalization Pack for Call of Duty®: Infinite Warfare, developed by Infinity Ward, includes a full suite of exclusive content: Weapon Camo and Weapon Accessory, a Reticle and Emblem, plus an animated Calling Card. All items show the official colors of the Endowment.
